Please sign into the Motown Newsletter group to get the latest on our analysis of the proposed 50% rate hike by the Meiners Oaks Water District. I have been attempting to figure it out from the flyer sent. Looks like residential customers will see a 50% increase in the base rate , at the lowest.

Jim Costellos ( JIM@vomarts.com )as well as Beth (water gal) has informed me that there is a new applicant here in Meiners Oaks for an alcohol permit.

I walked down to the storefront at 515 El Roblar (across from Don's gym) and there is an application on the front of the store.

I know that we as a community are very concerned about the number of alcohol licenses that are here in this community. Jim has a good point in saying that if we don't write and find out now, we won't have a leg to stand on in case this isn't a "nice restaurant" instead of another establishment that wouldn't be good for Meiners Oaks. We only have until September 30, 2007 to respond.

Anybody interested in this? Should we respond as the group stating our concerns for the community? I think it would be a good idea. Having a nice restaurant would be a welcome addition to the area, however, another biker-type or ? maybe not...
